2022 Satellite Church Groups

As a church family, we will not be implementing a vaccine certificate under the governments new traffic light system. Which means that things will look a little different for us in the near future. However, God has given us exciting new plans for 2022 and this page outlines what that is going to look like.

This page is currently being developed and new information will be added as it is confirmed.

What exactly are we doing?

A Message from Our Elders

We are very excited for 2022! While we previously had made other plans, the new traffic light system put a bit of a spanner in that. But, our good and loving God has lead us into new plans for 2022, and we're very excited about it!

As we have prayed and sought God, He was brought clarity, unity, and excitement to the Elders and the wider leadership team. So here is an overview of what we will be doing next year:

  • We are going to move into ‘satellite’ church groups
--- These will be of around 40 people, allowing us to function at both the green and orange lights and allowing room for growth
  • Each of these satellite groups will meet at different venues in Te Awamutu and around the surrounding area
--- The key idea with this is that we are then able to meet geographically, so each of us is fellowshipping and reaching out into our own immediate community
  • Each of these satellites will have their own service together
--- Each service will be fully local, meaning that those attending that service will have ownership of it and be contributing to making it happen
--- The sermon will be ‘central,’ meaning that all the satellites will be engaging with the same sermon, provided via livestream or the like each week
  • Some satellites may potentially lead to a church plant!
--- One of the really exciting possibilities with this is that we could quite possibly see one or two of these satellites become their own independent church in the future
  • Connect Groups and many of our other ministries will continue as they currently are
--- So there will still be lots of opportunity to connect in with the whole (larger) church family too

Why are we doing this?

1. We desire to equip the church for ministry – growing deeper in God’s word and in a love for Him

We Love God. Everything we do flows from this. And as we seek Him in HIs Word, our loves grows, as does our ability to live the life He has called us to. As we pursue Christ together, we want each person to be thoroughly equipped for the work of ministry (Eph 4:12-16; 1 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Tim 2:15) - that is, growing up into Christ themselves and helping others do that too (Matt 28:18-20).

2. We desire to have intergenerational worship and ministry – loving one another across what might otherwise be generational boundaries

We Love the Church. And the church is a beautiful mixture of all people who love Jesus together as one family! Each person has an important something to contribute to the rest of the family. We all need each other as we journey with God and there is so much we can learn by being together. This new format will give us room for us to be even more intentional about connecting intergenerationally.

3. We desire to reach out to the lost – and being physically located out there in the communities that we live in will be a massive step towards this

We Love the Lost. And sharing the gospel with those who don't yet know Jesus is of great importance. What an exciting opportunity we have as each satellite will be located right there in the neighbourhoods in which we live. We're excited to really get out among our neighbours and share Jesus with them!

Satellite Locations

Here is the updated list of locations for our church satellite groups.
Please note we are still confirming a few venues for a couple of groups.

Got questions?

We know there may still be some questions out there - and we totally understand! We're working as fast as we can behind the scenes to get as much detail to you as we can. We will update this page with new information as it comes about.

In the meantime, you are welcome to bring your questions to any of our Elders, Pastors, or the E-Team - they'd love to chat with you about it! You can also fill out the form below and one of the team will get back to you (we ask for contact details simply so we can get back to you personally).
